Electronic Visit Verification Update (EVV) 2.0
Effective October 1, 2025, AHCCCS will no longer use Sandata’s services as an EVV vendor and aggregator. Instead, AHCCCS will handle these services itself and is building its own EVV aggregator to support EVV compliance.
Provider Impact
Providers that use an EVV Vendor Other than Sandata:
If you use an EVV vendor other than Sandata there are no changes for you to manage. However, your EVV vendor will begin to send data to AHCCCS instead of Sandata. AHCCCS intends to use the same technical specifications that EVV vendors use to send data to Sandata. Each EVV vendor will be required to complete successful testing with AHCCCS prior to initial submission of data. AHCCCS will share details about the testing process soon. You’ll have access to the AHCCCS aggregator to view data submitted by your EVV vendor.
Providers that use Sandata as their EVV Vendor:
If you use Sandata as your EVV vendor, please reach out to Sandata immediately to complete and implement a direct contract with them, or complete and implement a contract with a different EVV vendor. Please complete this work prior to October 1 to avoid claim payment delays that will occur if your EVV data is not sent to AHCCCS October 1, 2025, and forward.
Other:
Following the October 1, 2025, transition, AHCCCS will no longer require prior authorization data to be included in your EVV visit documentation.
Resources
Please visit the AHCCCS EVV web page https://www.azahcccs.gov/AHCCCS/Initiatives/EVV/. Under EVV Communication there is a February 5, 2025 EVV Reminder, and a February 18, 2025, EVV 2.0 Webinar and power point presentation that discuss this change.
A list of current EVV vendors that send data to Sandata is also available on the EVV web page along with several other resources including an Alternate EVV Vendor Review Tool, Alternate EVV System Requirements and Technical Specifications, and FAQs.
We’ll also continue to share details with you as we receive them from AHCCCS.
