Appointment Availability Standards

Date: 03/18/24

Arizona Complete Health and Care1st are responsible for monitoring Appointment Availability and Afterhours Standards each quarter for contracted providers. When appointment standards are not met, the provider may receive ongoing education, technical assistance and monitoring until the standards are met. The health plan is responsible for the development of corrective action plans in collaboration with the provider when appropriate.

Arizona Complete Health offers a grid with the appointment availability and afterhours standards for Physical Health and Behavioral Health Providers. The standards apply to AzCH-CCP (Medicaid), Care1st (Medicaid), Ambetter from Arizona Complete Health (Marketplace), Wellcare by Allwell (Medicare), and Wellcare (Medicare PPO). For a copy of this grid, please contact your provider engagement specialist.

For additional information regarding Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) Appointment Availability Standards, review the AHCCCS Contractors Operation Manual Policy 417 at: https://www.azahcccs.gov/shared/Downloads/ACOM/PolicyFiles/400/417_Appointment_Availability_Monitoring_and_Reporting .pdf.
