Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) Update 2.0
Date: 10/01/25
Electronic Visit Verification Reminder (EVV) 2.0 - Provider Update
Effective October 1, 2025, AHCCCS will no longer use Sandata as its EVV vendor and aggregator. AHCCCS is transitioning to its own EVV aggregator to support compliance and streamline services.
What this Means for Providers
If you use an EVV Vendor other than Sandata:
- No action is needed
- Please confirm your vendor has completed testing with AHCCCS
If you use Sandata as your EVV vendor:
- You should have either
o Signed a direct contract with Sandata, or
o Transitioned to a different EVV vendor
- Sandata should have completed its testing with AHCCCS
Additional Changes
- Starting October 1, 2025, prior authorization data is no longer required in your EVV visit documentation.
- Claims validation – matching EVV visits in the aggregator with submitted claims - remains required.
- To prevent claim denials, AHCCCS has directed health plans to hold EVV eligible claims until October 7th (holding claims now enables faster payment than reprocessing denied claims later).
