AHCCCS Update on ALTCS-EPD

ALTCS-EPD Update: AHCCCS Extending Contracts with Existing Health Plans

AHCCCS has issued a public notice announcing the extension of the current ALTCS-EPD contracts. This decision follows a court issued stay that temporarily halts implementation of new contracts originally scheduled to begin on October 1, 2025.

To ensure uninterrupted ALTCS-EPD services, AHCCCS is extending its existing contracts with the following plans through September 30, 2026:

  • Mercy Care
  • Banner-University Family Care,
  • Arizona Physicians IPA (United Healthcare)

As a result, ALTCS-EPD members will continue to be covered by their current health plan for an additional year.

Arizona Complete Health (AzCH) will continue to share updates as new information becomes available.
