CHP Transition of Members and Services

This communication serves as an official notification of an important upcoming change for all children in foster care in Arizona. Beginning 4/1/2021, Mercy Care in collaboration with the Department of Child Safety under the new health plan named Children’s Health Plan or CHP, will begin to provide physical and behavioral health insurance coverage to all children in foster care. Beginning 4/1/2021, CHP will be the new health plan in Arizona for all foster children.
On 4/1/2021, CHP will begin to manage all utilization and care management functions for foster children. Arizona Complete Health is currently working with CHP to ensure a successful transition of members and services.
Beginning 4/1/2021 for pharmacy claims eligibility rejections for children in foster care, please advise pharmacies to submit claims to Mercy Care DCS CHP at BIN 610591, Group RX8805, PCN ADV.
