Help for First Episode Psychosis
What Is a First Episode of Psychosis (FEP)?
A first episode of psychosis, or FEP, is when someone experiences symptoms like:
- Seeing or hearing things that others don’t
- Feeling confused, scared and afraid, or not like themselves
- Having trouble thinking clearly or concentrating
- Feeling suspicious of others or wanting to be alone
Why early help matters
Getting help early can make a big difference. The sooner you start treatment, the better your chances are for recovery.
Support may include:
- Talking with a mental health provider
- Taking medicine to manage symptoms
- Getting support from family or friends
If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms, call us at 1-888-788-4408 (TTY/TDD 711). We’ll help connect you with a caring provider near you.
